ICYMI | Updated Guidelines on Social Welfare Projects and Public Works Ban in relation to the 2023 BSKE issued by COMELEC, pursuant to Resolution No. 10944
The prohibition on the release, disbursement, or expenditure of public funds for social welfare projects, construction of public works, and delivery of materials for public works in relation to the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections 2023 are as follows:
• For social welfare projects of national, regional, provincial, and local government units (LGUs) and those of government-owned or controlled corporations (GOCCs) and their subsidiaries, the period of prohibition is from September 15, 2023, to October 30, 2023, except for Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS), the distribution of which is prohibited from October 20 to 30, 2023; and
• For social welfare projects that the barangay will implement, the period of prohibition is from October 20 to 30, 2023.
• For all ongoing construction and maintenance of barangay-funded roads and bridges, the prohibition period is from October 20 to 30, 2023.
Note: Social services as used in this Resolution shall refer to the services rendered by the government to provide aid, support, or assistance to the disadvantaged, distressed, or vulnerable persons or sectors of society.
