IN PHOTOS | In support to the Executive Order No. 39, the Department of Trade and Industry DTI Laguna organized its first “Rice on Wheels for Retailers” program in Laguna in cooperation with the Provincial Government of Laguna, City Government of San Pedro, and Maunlad Rice Mill Corporation, also with the help of Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO). To bear witness to this event, Mr. Christian Tungohan, OIC Provincial Director of DTI-Laguna, and Ms. Marissa Argente, OIC Regional Director of DTI-Calabarzon, were both in attendance.
According to the DTI, its objective for this distribution is to “provide retailers in public marketplaces the capacity to source out cheaper rice, and attempt to assure the availability of regular and well-milled rice under the price ceiling imposed by EO No. 39 to consumers.”
