Pursuant to Proclamation No. 727, May 1, 2025 (Thursday), is hereby declared a Regular Holiday throughout the country in observance of Labor Day.

It likewise serves as a reminder of our collective commitment to uphold and promote the rights and welfare of every manggagawa.

The Philippines first observed Labor Day on May 1, 1903, when thousands of workers marched from Plaza Moriones in Tondo to Malacañang Palace to call for fairer working conditions. Since then, May 1 has stood as a lasting symbol of the strength, unity, and aspirations of the Filipino workforce.
