In accordance with Proclamation No. 470, the first week of October is designated as Elderly Filipino Week, a time to honor and celebrate the invaluable contributions of our elders to nation-building. This year’s theme, “Senior Citizens – Building Nation, Inspiring Generations,” highlights the vital role that senior citizens play in shaping our communities and inspiring future generations.
Today, October 7, 2024, the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) and the City Alliance of Senior Citizens Association of San Pedro Inc. (CASCAPI) kicked off the celebrations at the San Pedro City Hall Lobby. Selected senior citizens were given the unique opportunity to serve as counterparts to office heads and officials, showcasing their wisdom and experience in various roles throughout the city government.
This initiative not only recognizes the contributions of our elderly but also promotes their active participation in community affairs, reinforcing the message that their voices and insights are essential in guiding the nation towards a brighter future.
