“Last February 3, 2025 San Pedrenses, courtesy of Barangay Landayan’s Laguna Lakeside Boat Club, embarked on a fun and educational endeavor at Laguna de Bay’s ‘Kangkong Farmer for a Day!’ program. Amidst the serene beauty of the lake, participants came together to rediscover the magic of agriculture and its importance to the local communities.
From 6:00 in the morning, attendees took on the role of Kangkong farmers, learning the processes of cultivating the humble vegetable. People of all ages floated in little boats across the waters, embraced the simplicity and sustainability of this way of life.
However, this program is not just about swapping careers and learning something new; it’s about community, about realizing the interconnectedness of the local communities with the delicate ecosystems of Laguna de Bay.
