San Pedro City – A three day medical mission led by the SUNHAN MEDICAL FORUM was held last January 28-30, at Barangay Bagong-Silang, San Antonio and San Vicente. The specialized health team from Korea worked alongside with the City Health Office, headed by Robert Olivares, Chief Nurse Riah Fojas and the City Social Welfare and Development Office, in providing free health services to the constituents of the city.
The medical team of 24 professionals, led by Dr. Park Han Sung, was comprised entirely of volunteers including ophthalmologist, pediatricians, ENT specialists, orthopedist, dermatologists, clinical pathologists and radiologists. City nurses, Barangay Nutrition Scholars, Barangay Health Workers and Staff from the CSWD contributed in giving free health services to more than 2,000 individuals from the marginalized sector of San Pedro. The team also provided free medicines during the mission.
City mayor Lourdes S. Cataquiz extended her grateful appreciation for the free medical services the SUNHAN MEDICAL FORUM has provided to the San Pedronians. “The city government of San Pedro is thankful for the generosity of Sunhan Medical Forum for choosing San Pedro as the place for voluntary services. May we continue to work together in providing free health services to those who are in need.”
During the last day, certificates of appreciation were presented by city mayor Lourdes S. Cataquiz to the Sunhan Medical Forum volunteers during the thanksgiving dinner. Also present were former mayor Calixto R. Cataquiz, city councilor Bobot Berroya, CSWD head, Fatima Autor, City Budget Officer Lourdes Remolacio, Cesar Ballano, Diwa Tayao and the City Health Office staff.
